Sunday marked the Single-Speed Cyclo Cross World Championships. Because the biking community in Portland can do no less than be the most chaotic, dirty group of rabble-rousers in the country, the theme of this year’s race at the mud raceways was Mad Max-Thunderdome. As a supporter of this wacky group of mud-coated, wheel-grinding, steeplechasing I volunteered myself to hang in a madmax costume from the top of the Thunderdome in a harness, along with two friends. In our pleather pants, fur tops, black war paint & HARNESSES we shot marshmallows and sprayed PBR over the racers as they came sloshing through the Thunderdome. This video is one of many that appears to have hit the stream this morning. God help my reputation. And God Bless Portland.

Because my life feels like a sitcom. Sometimes it is on Fox. Sometimes on the WB. Sometimes on VH1 on a Sunday morning.
Some episodes are definitely better than others. Which is why a boxed-set probably won't be hitting stores until at least 2013.
